The Tomahawk is a robust exercise platform on which you can alternate between belt squats and weighted dips with a few slight adjustments.
The default belt-squat setting features a steel grip with an extruded rubber handle which, when removed from the Tomahawk’s central columns, allows you to slide two 11-gauge steel dip bars into place.
The Tomahawk is the exact size it needs to be—41 inches in width—and is designed to fit most residential spaces, but don’t imagine that users will find themselves cramped. The 18-by-24-inch platforms provide ample room for a variety of exercises, including those requiring wide foot spacing like sumo squats or lateral lunges. Not only can you go wide, but the platform's 8-inch elevation lets you squat deep, or at least as deep as your hip flexors will let you. And don't worry about losing your footing; the platform's anti-skid venting secures your stance and stability throughout the motion.
Speaking of safety features, the Tomahawk is self-spotting. To begin your workout, lift the weight slightly off the spotter, then move the safety lever to your right. Once you've finished, replace the lever to its original position, and the platform will bear the weight you were just squatting or dipping. The 16-inch weight horns are tilted upwards (slightly) and secured to the central arm by galvanized 7-gauge steel mounting plates locked in place by 8 half-inch steel bolts. It’s not going anywhere.
Besides its exhaustive versatility and functionality, the Tomahawk looks great. Its ultra chip-resistant powder black and chrome surfaces contrast nicely, and the laser-etched "Lord Bolt" Thor's heads and Triquetra designs add a personal touch.
