The Hawk Sissy Squat is a small bench that lets athletes safely target their core, glutes, and all 4 heads of the quadriceps with a simple squat motion. A favorite among physical therapists treating lower back, hip, or knee injuries and athletes seeking a different way to perform a classic exercise.

To use the Hawk, first, secure your feet on the non-slip plate so that the top of your shoe is underneath the synth-leather roller. Adjust its length with the pull-pin mechanism as needed. Ideally, your calves should touch the two-inch-thick pad. Now, you’re ready to lean back and perform a sissy squat.

These squats are more difficult than the standard variation, but you can challenge yourself more by using dumbbells, weight plates, or resistance bands.
