“And Apollo, the son of Zeus, encouraged Achilles even more, saying, “Hero, why not invoke the power of the deathless gods yourself?” -- Homer, The Iliad, Book 20, vs. 123-124, the Fagles translation
Olympus | THIS ITEM IS SHIPPED UNASSEMBLED
The Olympus is one of the largest, most functional products we offer here at Bolt. It is made of three platforms: the BARBARIAN Rack, the WIDOW Lat-Pull Low-Row, and the PROWLER Pulley, each bolted together to make a single piece of fitness equipment.
*Please note this machine arrives disassembled
Station 1 - THE WIDOW
The Widow -- Made with 11-gauge steel, 1.5-inch bolts, polycarbonate pullies, and high-density steel cables with rubber casing, The Widow is a 2-in-1 lat-pull-down/cable-row designed to target the user’s biceps, deltoids, traps, and, most of all, their latissimus dorsi. It is compatible with any 3” by 3” attachment, including those that come with our Krypton and Barbarian racks. The 300-pound weight stack--50 lbs more than most cable pulldown machines--gives you room to improve, and the black synth-leather seat with 2.5-inch-thick upholstery ensures that you do so in comfort.
Station 2 - THE BARBARIAN
The Barbarian -- At the center of the Olympus, binding both the left and the right stations together, we find the Barbarian full-rack. If the Widow is Poseidon and the Prowler, Hades, then the Barbarian is exactly who you’d expect it to be, the 3rd and unswallowed son of Cronos. Standing in the Barbarian full rack, you have 49 inches of space between the Widow and the Prowler, more than enough room for barbell exercises, and, if you order through our website or showroom, you’ll also get the equipment you need to perform them: barbells, plats, collars, etc.
The Olympus comes with two J-hooks, each rated at 440 lbs. and our signature BOLT safety straps so you can attempt the next PR safely. For that chest-press record, you’ll need the right bench. Fortunately, several versions of the Olympus available on our website come with the Fury, a 22 by 71-inch flat bench that fits nicely underneath the Barbarian with room to spare. Some packages also come with the Tusk, a 44 lb Olympic barbell rated for loads of 500 pounds and 160 lbs of Lightning Series weight plates. The Barbarian’s uprights are connected by a 1.5-inch diameter pull-up bar, allowing you to drop-set your back exercises. Do your max pullups, then step to your right and move into lat pulldowns.
Station 3 - THE PROWLER
The Prowler -- Take two steps left, and you’re standing in front of the Prowler, a functional 2:1 trainer with steel pulleys just like the Widow, the most significant difference being that the cable housing is adjustable. With 72 inches of vertical mobility and a cable that extends 105 inches (nearly 9 feet) away from the machine, the Prowler’s range, weight capacity, and overall versatility allow you to isolate the muscle group of your choice. All you need to train biceps, triceps, chest, legs, back, or more is a working knowledge of functional trainer exercises and the right attachment. One accessory that does come with the Olympus is the Bolt D-handle cable attachment. It is made with durable polycarbonates and can be upgraded to any Bolt Solid Steel Handle Attachment from our online store.
Like the night hunters that inspired its name, the Prowler is powerfully built with 11-gauge steel and high-density steel cables protected by a smooth rubber casing. If, however, you don’t want the Prowler to occupy a throne on your personal Olympus, there are other options.
UNPARALLELED ADAPTIBILITY
The Greek gods were adept shape-shifters, and our Olympus is no different. On standard installations, the Widow, The Barbarian, and Prowler all face the same direction. This particular layout is great for users who want to put their Olympus against a wall and still have space in the garage to park their cars, but for commercial gyms or users with more floor space, the Prowler and the Widow can rotate to face any direction, and with X-bar attachments, the 24.5-inch space in between the stations doubles, so that three athletes can use it simultaneously.
If, however, you want a custom job with two Widows on either side of the Barbarian or two Prowlers, we can do that too. Further accessories like the Landmine, Dip Station, Monolift, Lever Arms, and Battle Rope Ring can enhance the Olympus’ functionality, but nothing can make it look better than it already does.
A HOMERIC HYMN TO BEAUTY
We could say more, but now is the time for you to ask questions like why not? Why not turn your home gym (or commercial-grade fitness facility) into a personal Pantheon? "Why not invoke the power of the deathless gods yourself?"
