The Phoenix immediately stands out from other pendulum squat racks on the market. Here's why.
The spotter arm, usually at the side of most pendulum squat platforms, locks the Phoenix in its upright position by the forward rotation of the front grip.
Another safety feature, the adjustable rubber stop at the base of the machine, allows athletes to lower the pendulum within four inches of the floor--if the load is too heavy--and still move out from underneath it without the risk of injury.
To further improve the pendulum’s safety and functionality, the 14-inch weight horns are tilted upwards at a 10-degree angle from the floor, so athletes can load the platform with its maximum capacity of 600 pounds without worrying that the plates will fall off. Even then, the load can still be increased with Savage chains available from our online store.
The 130-degree footplate is enormous (31” x 31”) and textured with a coat of black urethane spray for a skid-proof surface that also manages to be non-abrasive.
The whole point of a pendulum squat is to reduce stress on ankles and knees, but that weight still needs to go somewhere, which is why the Phoenix features an over-engineered cockpit.
The concave backrest channels your weight inward and into the 3-inch-thick upholstery on the shoulder rests, saving your ankles, knees, and clavicles. Whether you’re rising from the ashes of a leg injury or looking for a new angle to attack your quads, calves, and glutes, the Phoenix gives you everything you need to outperform the athlete you were yesterday.
