Gym Prose: Fitness First in El Paso, Texas

The day started before sunrise at Bolt Fitness Supply. Coffee in hand, trucks loaded, the crew was ready. First mission: Buc-ee’s. Because you know a road trip is not official unless you stop at Texas’ favorite gas station. Also, Chris cannot survive a road trip without his Beaver Nuggets—it’s practically a rule at this point, no complaints from anyone though.

12 hours later they arrive at their destination: Fitness First in El Paso, Texas.

First thought? This is going to be a nightmare.

There was one door for 53 giant machines. Visions of dismantling and reassembling every machine dawned on them. But then, like a hero, Ernesto (the gym owner) appeared and casually opened massive garage doors in the back. Whew. Problem solved.

By 8pm everything was unloaded and installed, and the crew was done for the day. The boys celebrated at Chili’s—burgers, triple dippers, and whatever else they could shovel in before getting Zzzs at Holiday Inn. The next morning’s breakfast? According to Jackson those were the best hotel quality eggs and toast of his life. (We’re still skeptical, but he swears by it.)

Day two kicked off at 8am with the second truck. Since everything was pre-assembled, it was just unload, move, repeat. When they were done, Ernesto’s wife hopped on the new equipment and gave her stamp of approval.

So, why 53 machines? Ernesto was done with his old setup—it was falling apart. One night, he went down a YouTube rabbit hole, stumbled across one of Jackson’s gym videos, and thought, “That’s what I want.” Next thing you know, he’s driving from El Paso to Houston to see our showroom in person. The rest is history.

By noon, the crew was back on the road. They made it back to Houston before morning twilight—exhausted, but proud. Another marathon trip, another gym ready to make gains.
