Water Valley ISD • Case Study

Working with a publicly funded school district entails a structured procurement process distinct from private-sector projects.  At Bolt Fitness Supply our sales associates are adept at fulfilling whatever commercial or residential fitness needs a public or private enterprise may require.  Bolt general manager Oscar Adame was able to successfully address the needs outlined by Water Valley ISD resulting in a successful bid.

The athletic director of Water Valley was looking for high quality commercial grade fitness equipment sufficiently able to support multiple sports programs and stay within budget.  Additionally, it   was important that this project could be completed in time for the beginning of their fall sports program.  The director stated that Water Valley ISD aimed to build the “best weight room in the entire Central Valley” and Bolt Fitness Supply was happy to accept the challenge.

After some correspondence between our GM and the Water Valley Athletic Director a meeting was established and the Bolt team including our designer and installation technicians made the seven hour drive to Water Valley Texas to assess the space.

The priorities of the onsite consultation were to consider the best ways to maximize the use of the facility and to begin discussing the specific types of equipment necessary to achieve the goals of this project.  During this assessment our team took extensive photos and measurements to ensure a seamless installation.  

Bolt Fitness Supply’s ability to maximize resources allowed Water Valley ISD to expand its budget capacity, allocating additional funds for custom branding featuring the Wildcats and Ladycats logos.  Additionally, discussions began on designing two entirely custom weight bridges for the facility.

With the site assessment completed, Bolt’s design team got to work drafting floor plans and building renders of custom equipment featuring various color schemes, logo placements, and finishes. Meanwhile, Bolt’s engineers began the design process on two custom bridges that would serve as the facility’s functional centerpieces.

One week later, Water Valley ISD received multiple layout options designed for efficiency while prioritizing safety and workflow. The athletic director provided Bolt with two equipment lists: one for essential items, like squat racks and weight benches, and another for supplementary pieces that would make for great additions to the facility. Thanks to Bolt’s expertise in optimizing for space and budget (see our all in one packages), we were fully prepare to do our best to accommodate all the equipment on their list. One example of this is Water Valley’s selection of our Shock Series leg extension and leg curl combo, which consolidates two exercises into a single compact unit.

Once the final equipment list was confirmed, Bolt provided an estimated lead time and got to work. However, as Water Valley ISD’s construction progressed ahead of schedule, they requested to receive their equipment ahead of the initial date discussed. Through logistical adjustments, Bolt was able to successfully accommodate the revised timeline.

When the equipment arrived at Bolt Headquarters in Houston, Texas our team immediately began construction on the pieces small enough to travel to Water Valley.  Approximately half the machines were constructed at Bolt HQ while the larger and more technical equipment needed to be built on site.  Our Gym Pros installation technicians drove two trucks to Water Valley and spent two days constructing and installing the equipment.  Because no corners were cut prior in the preparatory stages no unforeseen challenges nor difficulties arose during the installation.

One notable highlight of this process was the onsite construction of the two massive customized bridges connecting the squat racks and spanning the width of the facility.  Our engineers in conjunction with our design team designed two athletic bridges that perfectly accommodated the space and the budget of the client.  A more detailed exploration of the installation process can be read about here on our Gym Prose Blog (link here!) and seen here on our Gym Pros YouTube (link here!).

After the installation was completed it is Bolt policy for the GM to thoroughly tour the facility with the client.  This policy is rigorously upheld to ensure that each piece of machinery down to the last washer is installed correctly, safely and that all the equipment is properly arranged.  During this walkthrough our GM will demonstrate how each piece of equipment functions including what parts of the body it targets, how it is adjusted and the overall best practices for safe use.  Our installation process is never complete until this walkthrough happens and is signed off by all parties as was done here.

Water Valley ISD successfully realized its vision of building the best weight room in the Central Valley, and Bolt Fitness Supply is proud to have played a role in that achievement. The district later placed additional orders, and Bolt has maintained an ongoing relationship, including routine maintenance visits.

This project exemplified Bolt’s ability to deliver high-quality commercial fitness equipment within budget while customizing elements to enhance school spirit. Every piece of equipment was branded with Wildcats and Ladycats logos, including custom embroidery on weight benches and two uniquely designed weight bridges.
